Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a valuable tool for developing your emotional understanding of yourself. As a Psychotherapist, my job is to help us both make sense of the complex feelings you may be bringing and to support you in understanding what you might be feeling and for you to make sense of it. This can give rise to opening up more choices in how you respond to people and circumstances in your life.

Depending on your needs, here is an outline of what to expect when working with me.

Individual Therapy

In individual work, the work may be brief and short term, or we may engage with more complex and deeper problems, which we will give more time for. In the first or second consultation, we will have a better understanding of what will be the best for you.

Couples Therapy

I have worked with couples for 33 years. The focus of this work is on the relationship between you. This is the most important person in your life and with that the understanding and respect is understood. I create a safe place to start to look at the issues that may have built up over time in your relationship, and I find that often, because a couple are so close, it can be the hardest thing to share how you truly feel, especially as you have so much to lose. Yet with a facilitator there to support and encourage the relationship between you, there could be so much to gain.

Group Therapy

I have been a Therapy Group facilitator for over 33 years. I find that often a group is the best place to see and understand how we interact with others … a microcosm of our world at large. The safety and trust that is built in a group can offer a place to explore and share how we interact with others, what hinders us, what works for us and what makes our world better.

Supervision and CPD Training

I supervise Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Clinical Psychologists in maintaining and developing their work. I offer supervision and CPD Trainings for trainee and practicing therapists. Please contact me for more details.
